Official Brand Logo of Train Sim World 5 San Bernardino Line Overview From Metruvia Simulation

The San Bernardino Line is a 57.6-mile (92.7 km) route available as an add-on for Train Sim World 5 and Train Sim World 6, marking the second Metrolink route in the series. It features the busy commuter corridor between Los Angeles Union Station and San Bernardino.

Route Details

  • Length: 57.6 miles (92.7 km)
  • Stations: 17 stations are included along the line.
  • Locomotives: The add-on features two classic Californian diesel locomotives: the Metrolink MP36PH-3C “Baby Bullet” and the modern EMD F125 “Spirit”.
  • Rolling Stock: These locomotives pull Bombardier Bi-level passenger coaches and cab cars.
  • Gameplay Modes: Players can engage in operating full passenger service timetables (weekday or weekend), perform conductor duties (checking tickets and dispatching trains), or explore the expansive track in Free Roam mode.

Key Features

  • Authentic Scenery: The route is designed to faithfully reproduce the Southern California landscape, from the urban sprawl of Los Angeles to the industrial areas at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains.
  • Realistic Timetables: The timetables accurately reflect real-world operations, prioritizing heavy commuter traffic into LA during morning rush hour and outbound in the evening. Weekend services are lighter and include special race day trains to the Auto Club Speedway.
  • Freight Layering: The line includes numerous sidings and industries. For players who also own the Cajon Pass route add-on, additional freight services become available, adding variety to the experience.
  • Route Hopping: A popular feature in Train Sim World 5 and 6, route hopping allows owners of the San Bernardino Line to seamlessly travel between it and the Antelope Valley Line and/or Cajon Pass routes. Portals at key locations like LA Union Station and San Bernardino enable a continuous journey of over 200 miles without returning to the main menu.

Availability

The San Bernardino Line is available for purchase as a standalone route add-on for PC (via Steam or Epic Games), PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox consoles (available on the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store). It was previously a core route included in the base version of Train Sim World 5.
