The Kinzigtalbahn (Frankfurt – Fulda) is a popular 103 km (64 miles) German railway route available as an add-on in Train Sim World 5 and the upcoming Train Sim World 6. It connects the major transport hub of Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof with Fulda, following the scenic Kinzig River valley for part of its journey.

Key Features

  • Diverse Operations: Experience a blend of high-speed inter-city travel (up to 200 km/h or 124 mph), regional passenger runs, and heavy freight movements.
  • Authentic Signaling: A unique feature of the route is a section near Hanau that still operates using historical semaphore signals.
  • Included Rolling Stock: The add-on includes a variety of electric locomotives and multiple units:
    • DB BR 411 ‘ICE-T’: A tilting train used for high-speed inter-city services.
    • DB BR 114: A classic locomotive for regional passenger duties.
    • DB BR 193 Vectron: A modern, versatile locomotive used for both regional passenger and heavy freight operations.
  • Layering Potential: For players who own other compatible German routes, “layers” introduce additional AI and playable services, incorporating trains like the DB ICE 1, DB BR 425, and DB BR 628 for a busier, more realistic environment.
