Train Sim World 3 is a realistic train simulation game developed and published by Dovetail Games, offering players the chance to control iconic locomotives across detailed routes in the USA, UK, and Europe. The game, released on September 6, 2022, is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Realistic Gameplay & Controls: The game uses Dovetail Games’ proprietary SimuGraph® vehicle dynamics engine, offering true-to-life performance and handling for the trains. Players manage detailed controls from inside the cab, including brakes, generator fields, and reversers.
Dynamic Weather & Volumetric Skies: A major enhancement in this version is the new dynamic weather system, featuring volumetric clouds and realistic effects for snow, lightning, and rain, which can impact gameplay and require “defensive driving”.
New Routes & Locomotives: The standard edition includes three new routes and nine powerful locomotives:
- Cajon Pass: Haul mile-long freight trains through American mountains with the ES44C4 locomotive.
- Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel – Würzburg: Race at 280 km/h in Germany’s high-speed ICE 1 train.
- Southeastern Highspeed: Drive Britain’s fastest domestic train, the Class 395 ‘Javelin’, to and from London.
Training Center: A new, dedicated Training Center allows players to learn the fundamentals of operating different types of trains in one place.
Backward Compatibility: The game supports all existing Train Sim World 2 compatible content, allowing players to bring their existing add-on collection into Train Sim World 3.
Customization: Players can use the Livery Designer to paint trains and the Scenario Planner to create custom journeys, then share their creations via the Creators Club.
